What you will be doing Ensure the overall safety and security of the guests, employees and property premises. Act as a member of the Emergency Response team, responding in cases of fire, accident, safety concerns and calls for medical assistance. Ensure that any violations to law or hotel policy is investigated and reported. Respond to all emergency situations, and provide First Aid and CPR as required. Correct and report any fire hazards or health and safety hazards. Investigate and report any violations to law/property policy, occurrences of accidents, complaints, criminal activity and crisis situations. Maintain computer records of all actions in Daily Activity Reports. Conduct regular floor patrols, cash counts and crowd control. Assist guests regarding hotel facilities in an informative and helpful way. Conduct regular audits with regards to access control and safety measures. Follow all department and Hotel policies (procedural, service, and safety). Will be required to work shifts of all hours; including overnights, weekends, and holidays. Other duties as assigned. Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to): Frequent standing and walking throughout shift. Occasional lifting and carrying up to 30lbs. Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting. Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps. Qualifications Your experience and skills include: Relevant security experience is an asset. Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities. Highly responsible & reliable. Valid Certification in Occupational First Aid Level 2 required. Valid BC Security License required. Computer literate in Microsoft Windows applications. University/College degree in a related discipline preferred. Must possess strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment. Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team, as well as solo. Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remain calm and courteous at all times. Additional Information Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
