Our Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) division is at the forefront of delivering complex transmission line projects across Australia, supporting the nation's energy infrastructure growth and sustainability goals.
As we expand our portfolio in line with recent tender wins, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Transmission Line Designer with a structural engineering background to join our dynamic team.
Role Summary: In this role, you will support the design and delivery of high-voltage transmission lines within our growing M&E portfolio, working closely with project teams on active tenders and ongoing projects.
Your expertise in structural design and analysis will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and reliability of our transmission line projects, from feasibility through to detailed design and implementation.
Key Responsibilities: Develop transmission line designs, focusing on structural elements, for projects ranging from 66 kV to 500 kV, including both greenfield and brownfield sites.
Contribute to concept design, route selection, and feasibility studies to meet project and client requirements.
Perform detailed structural analysis of transmission line components, including poles, towers, and foundations, ensuring compliance with Australian standards and regulatory guidelines.
Support tender proposals by providing technical insights and design optimizations, aligning with ACCIONA's competitive delivery strategies.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (civil, electrical, environmental) to integrate structural solutions that address all aspects of project challenges.
Conduct design reviews, technical calculations, and documentation to assist with both internal and client-driven quality assurance processes.
Utilize industry software for transmission line modeling, line spotting, and structural load analysis.
Participate in project planning and coordination, ensuring timely design delivery and proactive problem-solving in the field.
Required Skills and Competencies Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering; Master's degree or further studies in Structural Engineering is advantageous.
Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or working towards chartered status.
Demonstrated experience in transmission line design, including structural analysis for high-voltage (HV) lines.
Familiarity with transmission line software such as PLS-TOWER, PLS-POLE, PLS-CADD, AutoCAD, or similar design tools.
Knowledge of Australian industry standards and regulations for transmission line projects.
