We are seeking an Accessibility Officer to join Student Services, People Services, Administrative Division.
The Accessibility Officer plays a vital role in supporting the Disability and Accessibility Services team to deliver programs and coordinate resources to support students with a disability, injury, or health condition. This role focuses on facilitating equitable access and enhancing the student experience through inclusive practices. With a blend of planning, coordination, and collaboration, the Accessibility Officer contributes to key programs and initiatives that promote accessibility and inclusion. What you need to succeed Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to completion of a degree in Disability Studies, Inclusive Education or Allied Health with subsequent relevant experience. Demonstrated experience in a student-facing role within the higher education sector, with the ability to demonstrate interest in disability-specific services and support. Well-developed interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, combined with strong organisational abilities. Demonstrated ability to show initiative, work independently, and as an effective member of a team. Proven knowledge of, or willingness to develop, an understanding of federal and state government legislation and initiatives relating to disability. Demonstrated knowledge of, or interest in developing an understanding of, assistive technologies to support accessibility and inclusion.
