About the Opportunity Utilise a person-centred and strengths based approach, providing services that focus on client's needs and goals;Provide functional vision assessments and recommendations that address the priorities of clients of all ages, supporting them to make the most effective use of their vision; this includes the use of low vision aids, lighting and other specialist equipment.Provide information to clients and their carers/family about eye conditions, appropriate to their needs;Plan, develop, and deliver Access Technology training to clients either individually or in small groups, in a variety of formats and environments including workplaces, homes and Vision Australia centres. Training may be delivered face to face, over the phone or via video conference and other remote technologies.Minimum Requirements Degree level qualification relevant to the delivery of Access Technology services e.g. Allied Health or Technology; and/or extensive experience in the provision of technology support and training for people that are blind or have low vision;Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable);A working knowledge or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of a range of access technologies including screen access technology, print access technology including magnification equipment and Braille equipment;Approved qualifications in Orthoptics as recognised by the Australian Orthoptic Association;Registration with the Australian Orthoptic Board (Professional Body Registration where applicable i.e. Occupational Therapist needs AHPRA registration);Knowledge and skills in working with children, adults and older adults.Benefits of Working at Vision Australia Additional leave is available via our purchase leave and accrued day off schemes;Annual salary review to ensure your pay is in-line with the market rates;General service provider and discipline-specific professional development opportunities;A respectful and inclusive workplace where you will be supported.Contact If you have any questions about the role, please contact the hiring manager, Robyn Gillis.
