Global Talent Placements is looking for qualified Fitters for branches across Australia.
The successful candidates will be responsible for the servicing of equipment in our workshop and, on occasion, may be requested to service our equipment and clients onsite.
These are full-time permanent roles.
Your other duties will include: Interpreting drawings and technical diagrams to determine the sequence of operations to produce components.
Assemble and fit parts to ensure efficient operation.
Check tightness of joints and operation of moving parts.
Align and calibrate machinery components to ensure optimal performance and adhere to safety protocols.
Lays out, positions, aligns, and secures parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, callipers, and rulers from supplied blueprints or instructions.
Use metal-working machines and cutting torches to cut steel, drill or punch holes, and roll, bend or press steel into desired shapes.
Install and maintain compressors, pumps, meters, pneumatic and hydraulic controls, and piping, using hand tools and power tools, and following specifications and blueprints.
Construct patterns and templates as guides for layouts.
Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues, conducting repairs as necessary.
Perform routine maintenance to ensure proper functionality.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of maintenance activities and relevant documentation.
The successful candidate will be an individual who will honour our core values of People, Safety, Respect, Communication, and Continuous Improvement.
In addition to this, they will have: Certificate III in Mechanical Fitting/Fitter and Turner or Certificate IV in Mechanical Fitting/Fitter and Turner, including at least two years of on-the-job training.
At least two years of relevant full-time experience (where a suitable Certificate III or IV is held), or at least three years of full-time work experience where no suitable trade certificate is held.
Extensive experience with the rebuild of crushers, screens, and hydraulic components (preferred).
Advanced mechanical skills and experience operating within a workshop environment, repairs, and full refurbishment workshop.
Dogging and Forklift tickets with relevant experience.
Be able to pass a drug and alcohol test and work unsupervised in a team.
