About the Role Main Roads is seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our Aboriginal Engagement Transport Portfolio Team within the Finance & Commercial Services Directorate at our Perth office.
As the Aboriginal Participation Manager, reporting to the Director Aboriginal Engagement, you will play a crucial leadership role in overseeing the Transport and Rail Function of the Transport Portfolio Aboriginal Engagement Branch.
Your focus will be on empowering and developing your team while ensuring compliance with corporate governance principles.
You will lead your team in strategic partnerships with the Department of Transport and the Public Transport Authority, driving initiatives that support Aboriginal businesses in building sustainable capacity and enhancing their capabilities for long-term success.
Key responsibilities: Leadership and People Management: Lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse team, fostering a high-performance culture that emphasises professional growth, accountability, and collaboration.Performance Management: Implement and oversee performance management processes, setting clear expectations and providing constructive feedback to promote continuous improvement and professional development.Maximising Aboriginal Participation: Drive initiatives that enhance Aboriginal engagement across projects and agencies, aligning with our strategic goals and community commitments.Corporate Governance and Compliance: Uphold and promote corporate governance principles, ensuring that all initiatives comply with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Foster a culture of integrity, transparency, and ethical behaviour within your team.Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration to support the integration of Aboriginal participation initiatives.Strategic Guidance: Provide expert advice and support to agency counterparts to enhance the effectiveness of Aboriginal participation strategies.
