About the role The Aboriginal Liaison Officer, reporting to a Director of Primary and Preventative Health, plays a key role in enhancing healthcare services and fostering positive relationships with the Aboriginal community, service providers and government departments.
This role is essential in improving healthcare outcomes by advocating for Aboriginal patients,educating staff and strengthening community relationships to ensure culturally competent care.
The primary objectives of the role are to: Facilitate Self-Identification and Access to Services; Ensure a culturally respective experience; Act as a link between medical teams and families; Provide discharge assistance; Educate WDHS Staff ; Contribute expertise in Workgroups and Initiatives;  To be considered for this role you will need to demonstrate an understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and have an ability to communicate sensitively and effectively.
Qualifications and/or experience in Indigenous culture, Business Administration, Community Development or other relevant qualification and/or experience is highly desirable.
