Organisation Overview:Rumbalara Aboriginal Co-operative (RAC) is recognised as a leader among Aboriginal community-controlled organisations, maintaining a high profile in the public and private sectors across research, consultancy, policy development, and partnerships. RAC operates in a culturally appropriate, sensitive, community-controlled environment that maintains a holistic approach to service provision and emphasises the importance of family and community.
RAC has been a resource, service provider and enabler of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities of the Greater Shepparton region since 1980. RAC is a cooperative working to provide a range of supports and services including:
Health and wellbeingPositive aging and disability servicesCommunity servicesAsset and infrastructure servicesCorporate servicesRAC has an annual budget of $19 million and a workforce of approximately 230 people. RAC is a significant employer and economic contributor to the region and plays a high profile leadership role as one of the larger Aboriginal organisations in Australia. RAC is committed to ensuring the Aboriginal people in the Goulburn Valley have certainty of access to community-controlled services.
Role Purpose:Dunguludja Yakapna is a program designed to document and celebrate our community-driven practices, embedded in the rich tapestry of Aboriginal culture. This program ensures the continued strength and resilience of our community by delivering holistic care and support across Rumbalara's diverse services.
As the Aboriginal Healing Practitioner, you will: Develop and deliver holistic healing interventions for young people, families, women, men, and the broader community experiencing family violence or trauma.Provide cultural consultation to staff working with Aboriginal children to ensure culturally appropriate assessment and treatment.Conduct cultural assessments and develop culturally appropriate treatment plans.Collaborate with the community and care teams to achieve goals within specified timeframes.Offer pre-referral consultations to set goals.Provide culturally respectful consultation for communities regarding Aboriginal families at risk.Promote healing through cultural belonging and connection.Employment Conditions:All staff are required to sign a confidentiality agreement on appointment to the organisation.Probationary / qualifying periods apply to all new positions.All staff are required to adhere to the Code of Conduct of the Co-operative (available to view).All staff are required to follow the policies and procedures to the department and the Co-operative (manuals are available to view).A commitment to equal opportunity and Occupational Health and Safety principles and practices is required.Salary packaging is available to permanent part time and full-time staff.Tenure of positions at Rumbalara will be tied to existing contracted funding arrangements.About You:We are seeking a passionate individual to support children and families who bring the following skills and qualifications: You are Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.Experience in holistic healing with children, families, and the community.Ability to provide cultural consultation and ensure culturally appropriate assessments and treatments.Skills in conducting cultural assessments and developing treatment plans.Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with the community and care teams.Experience in providing culturally respectful consultation and pre-referral goal setting.A holistic approach to healing, fostering cultural belonging and connection.What We Offer:Competitive pay and conditions based on the SCHADS Award Level 5 Pay Point 1 (based on qualifications and experience).Salary packaging of $15,900 available for Part- or Full-time employees.Opportunities for additional incentives, which may include Christmas bonus days, recognition of NAIDOC day, periodic adjustments aligned with CPI increases, and the possibility of a relocation allowance when applicable.Professional development opportunities and support to help you grow in your career.Access to a free and confidential Employment Assistance Program and more.Provision of a laptop and mobile phone to support your work where applicable.Fleet cars to carry out daily tasks where applicable. #J-18808-Ljbffr
