We are working with a consultancy that is seeking an L2 Desktop Engineer to be based at one of their client sites on a 6-month contract.
As an L2 Desktop Engineer, you will play a crucial role in providing technical support in the desktop engineering area. You will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving desktop-related issues, ensuring the smooth functioning of IT systems, and supporting end-users to maximize productivity.

Responsibilities:Provide L2 technical support for desktop-related issues, including hardware, software, and peripherals.Diagnose and troubleshoot desktop problems, performing root cause analysis and implementing effective solutions.Install, configure, and maintain desktop operating systems and software applications.Collaborate with L1 support teams to escalate and resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner.Perform regular maintenance tasks, including software updates, patches, and system upgrades.Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures, particularly in relation to SC Clearance requirements.Document all support activities, including resolutions, troubleshooting steps, and system configurations.Skills/Must have:SC Clearance is mandatory for this role.Proven experience as an L2 Desktop Engineer or similar role, with a strong background in technical support.Excellent knowledge of desktop operating systems, including Windows and macOS.Proficiency in troubleshooting desktop hardware, software, and peripheral devices.Familiarity with desktop management tools and remote support technologies.Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with end-users and stakeholders.A proactive and customer-focused approach to problem-solving.Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician) would be advantageous.Salary:£190 per day
