Job Summary: We are seeking casual staff to work across various Council Transfer Stations, located at Yass, Murrumbateman, Binalong, Wee Jasper, Bookham, Bowning and Gundaroo. Your role is to ensure Council's waste management facilities operate effectively, efficiently and in accordance with regulatory requirements, providing exceptional customer service to our community.Willing to work in a hands-on outdoor role.General working knowledge of recycling.Excellent communication and people skills.Ability to learn quickly on the job.Experience in cash handling and processing of EFTPOS payments or ability to learn.Flexible availability across the week including early starts and working on weekends and public holidays.Ability to work effectively in a team or independently.Commitment to providing excellent customer service.Working Environment: Casual work, flexible shifts over a seven-day working week, all uniforms & personal protective equipment (PPE) supplied, salary range $36.36 per hour - $39.27 per hour includes 25% casual loading, additional 50% loading applies to work performed on a Saturday, additional 100% loading applies to work performed on a Sunday, adverse working conditions allowance applies. Yass Valley Council is a local government organisation employing over 170 staff, managed by the Chief Executive Officer and three Directors. The role of Transfer Station Operator is located within the Waste Services Team.
