Victoria University Council Appointment Play a strategic role in the governance of a university championing equity and excellence Work with an inclusive and diverse University Council with a focus on Melbourne's West Remunerated, Ministerial Appointment The Victorian Government invites expressions of interest for a Ministerial Appointment to the Council of Victoria University, which has been a champion of a culture of equity and excellence in education, training, research, and engagement for more than a century.
Victoria University is one of only six Australian universities to offer both TAFE and higher education and is uniquely positioned to offer flexible, concurrent and complementary studies.
As the university governing authority and chaired by the Chancellor, the Victoria University Council plays a critical role in the strategic direction, mission, business plan, reviewing management and performance and monitoring risk, academic activity, and significant commercial initiatives.
Responsible for appointing and monitoring the performance of the Vice-Chancellor, the Victoria University Council also establishes policies consistent with legal requirements and community expectations.
To be considered for this appointment, you will be a qualified Director or executive with a demonstrated history of community, industry, and commercial engagement and a passion for contributing to and transforming TAFE and higher education.
You will have the governance and public administration background needed to add technical expertise to the Victoria University Council.
