The Opportunity Our well-established and growing team requires an experienced Zoologist to lead the delivery of a range of fauna services.
As the first dedicated zoologist in the team, this role offers a flexible range of project work tailored to the successful candidate's skill set and career aspirations.
Opportunities to grow and lead a team are available but not necessarily required.
A remuneration package commensurate with experience level, inclusive of incentive bonuses applies to this role.
The role: Desktop assessments Field study scoping and design HSE, travel and logistics for field trips Liaison with sub-consultants Undertaking and leading basic and targeted fauna assessments, including in remote and exciting locations Data management GIS/mapping Technical reporting of biological assessments and monitoring desktop and field results Report technical review Optional leadership opportunities for suitably experienced candidates: Leading, growing (via recruitment), mentoring, coaching and contributing to the career development of the Zoology team Over-arching management of the portfolio of zoological projects, including appropriate prioritisation, delegation and financial management Client relationship management Tenders, proposals and quotes for zoological scopes of work Other opportunities depending on experience and aspirations: Environmental impact assessments and environmental management projects Botanical/flora and vegetation studies Business development and marketing Leadership of broader business operations and strategy About You To be considered for this role, you will be able to demonstrate: Bachelor degree (minimum) in zoology, ecology, biological science, environmental science or equivalent minimum 2 years' relevant experience conducting and reporting on fauna surveys demonstrated familiarity with current Technical Guidance and other guidelines for fauna surveys proven track record in an environmental consulting team the ability to lead fauna assessments and monitoring programs, and undertake small assessments independently willingness to travel for some field assessments, including to remote locations familiarity with the fauna of Western Australia in various bioregions experience in the preparation of technical biological assessment reports excellent written communication skills current Western Australian C-class driver's licence take pride in delivering high-quality outputs a strong client focus being a solid team player Candidates who meet the following criteria will be highly regarded: proven track record in an environmental consulting team knowledge of and/or experience in botanical assessments, in addition to zoological expertise environmental impact assessment and approvals experience experience in project management or co-ordination If you would like to explore opportunities, or simply get in touch for a confidential discussion, please email a CV and cover letter to #J-18808-Ljbffr
