With more than 3,500 active volunteer members across 46 geographic units, MRNSW is deeply embedded in local communities along the NSW coast and priority inland waterways.

MRNSW now has an exciting opportunity for three Zone Training Managers for our North, Central, and South zones of NSW. These pivotal roles focus on developing quality training materials and overseeing the delivery of training to ensure operational excellence across our units. Your primary objective will be to develop and oversee a team of skilled trainers and learning support staff.
Some of your core duties include (but are not limited to):
Developing and maintaining training materials and courses to enhance the skills and knowledge of MRNSW membersOverseeing and supporting a team of skilled trainers, assessors, and learning support staff to ensure high-quality training deliveryMaintaining and updating individual and organisational training records and accreditation documents, and ensuring compliance with RTO requirementsCoordinating with the MRNSW Training and Capability team to continuously improve training systems, processes, and resourcesDelivering diverse training courses and assessments to members, staff, and the community, ensuring effective learning outcomesManaging the supply and readiness of training resources like first aid kits and life raftsSupporting community education programs and initiatives, while fostering a safe and inclusive workplace environmentAbout YouTo qualify, you will need a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40116 or an equivalent/higher qualification in adult education, or enrolment in and expected completion of the qualification within the next 6 months, preferably with a focus on marine or maritime disciplines, and operational accreditation in emergency services. Practical experience in marine industry training, working in the Emergency Services sector, or teaching in the marine sector, along with volunteering experience, is highly desirable.

An understanding of emergency management arrangements in NSW.Experience delivering dynamic training and assessment to diverse demographicsDemonstrated proficiency in Marine technical equipment found on commercial vesselsAs our ideal candidate, you will possess:
Exceptional leadership and communication skills, capable of building strong relationships and handling diverse personalitiesStrong organisational and prioritisation skills, with a proactive and positive attitude towards managing changeDemonstrated ability to deal with difficult situations and a varied workload, ensuring effective time managementYou are proactive, flexible and ready to be anywhere, anytime. You are safety and progress-driven, with strong interpersonal skills - able to achieve goals both autonomously and collaboratively.
This role demands a strategic and insightful training manager who thrives in a dynamic environment and is committed to promoting excellence across MRNSW. You will be responsible for influencing and elevating our training capabilities, with a focus on continuous improvement and adaptation to change. We are looking for someone passionate about delivering impactful education and fostering a culture of continuous learning. You must have the ability to work a flexible schedule with hybrid work options and regular travel.
