About the role We are currently recruiting a Zone Substation Specialist Electrical Technician ,to join our Transmission Riverina team. This role will be based from Wagga Wagga but would be open to candidates located in the Riverina region. The Zone Substation Specialist Electrical Technician will be exposed to and be responsible for the coordination / management of construction, installation, commissioning, testing and maintenance of Zone substations and associated equipment. You will interrogate and analyse systems, operate remote equipment, carry out switching operations and prepare reports regarding the nature and condition of Network assets. This role will also be responsible for coordinating the development of business strategies, planning, budget, forecasting and policy development. Key responsibilities Construction and maintenance of Zone Substations Installation, commissioning and testing of associated Zone Substation equipment Maintain and commission network protection and control systems (Intermediate and Complex) Inspect, test, analyse and prepare reports regarding the nature and condition of Network assets to maintain quality standards Access, use and analyse computerised systems to operate remote equipment Be available for and participate in stand by and after hours duties Carrying out switching operations associated with both high and low voltage Engineering Services Operate plant and equipment associated with Zone Substations in a safe manner Coordinate the development of business strategies, planning, budget forecasting and policy development About You You will be an experienced Substation Electrician with skills with Demonstrated capability through past, relevant experience and/or relevant qualifications. This position will involve travel, willingness to work away up when required. Required Qualifications/Skills Trade qualified Electrician with a current NSW Supervisors certificate Advanced Diploma in ESI Power System with preferred electives in Testing Systems Drivers Licence WorkCover NSW Construction Induction Cert Installing, commissioning, and testing associated HV transmission equipment.
