About the Role As our Substation Construction Manager, you will be responsible for the coordination and management of project field activities as specified by the Client, within a geographical area of the United Energy network.
Key Responsibilities include: Coordinating and managing all construction activities within a zone substation (inclusive of High Voltage equipment, underground and overhead); focusing on safety and ensuring the project risks are identified and managed. Managing the day-to-day construction work and procurement activities, resource/application requirements, and project issues. Managing field resources in line with project organisation structure, ensuring that the projects are completed to Client's expectations – safely, on time, to approved scope, quality, and environmental standards. Managing internal and external stakeholder relations with sub-contractors, the client, and internal staff. Coordinating sub-contractors and the quality of their work. Providing accurate input into forecasting of the program resource & financial requirements. Assisting Project Manager & Estimators (as required) – scoping, bid tendering, cost estimation, and construction schedules. About You You are a dedicated electrical professional with over a decade of experience in substation construction and electrical distribution. Known for fostering collaborative relationships while delivering complex projects on time. You're passionate about mentoring teams and implementing innovative solutions that enhance network reliability and safety.

Experience cultivating strong partnerships with stakeholders across the Victorian electrical market, demonstrating exceptional relationship-building skills and clear communication to ensure project success. You nurture team growth through collaborative leadership, focusing on comprehensive health & safety training while fostering an inclusive work environment. You create detailed documentation and maintain meticulous records using SAP and MS Office, ensuring seamless coordination across multiple project phases. Demonstrated adaptability and resilience in managing competing priorities while thoughtfully balancing resource allocation and team wellbeing. Time spent supporting cross-functional teams with empathetic communication and inclusive project management, drawing on extensive VESI training and electrical network expertise.
