Selection CriteriaKSC 1: Demonstrated highly developed skills when working with primary and secondary-aged children.
KSC 2: Demonstrated knowledge and skills in trauma symptomology and treatment, child/adolescence development, and family systems.
KSC 3: Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
KSC 4: Experience in the initiation, development, and implementation of programs that foster resilience in children and young people.
KSC 5: Demonstrated experience in the facilitation of group programs.
RoleThe Student Wellbeing Youth Worker (0.6 EFT) at Doveton College supports students aged between Prep and Year 9 with targeted therapeutic goals to assist in their engagement in education.
An integral component of this role includes:
Group work facilitation and program developmentYouth EngagementMentoring and SupportThe Youth Worker will also contribute to the development of high-quality interventions and programs that promote wellbeing and engagement throughout the College.
ResponsibilitiesSpecific Duties & Responsibilities: Group Facilitation:Plan, organize, and facilitate group activities aimed at promoting teamwork and personal growth among youth.Create a supportive atmosphere for participants.Contribute to the design and development of group programs.Continuously assess the effectiveness of programs and suggest improvements.Youth Engagement:Build trusting relationships with youth participants.Develop strategies to involve young people in the planning of activities.Provide comprehensive, individualized, goal-focused care to students.Facilitate intensive support for students with specific needs.Mentorship and Support:Provide individualized support to youth.Collaborate with other staff to address the diverse needs of participants.Documentation and Reporting:Complete accurate case notes.Prepare regular reports for program evaluation.Report any concerns to relevant external services.Who May ApplyIndividuals with the aptitude, experience, and/or qualifications to fulfill the specific requirements of the position.
