In early 2023 selectability extended its pre-existing support for children in the child protection system who need residential care. We engender courage and passion for a better future About the role selectability is looking for a passionate and motivated?Youth Worker to join our growing team!?Our youth residential program provides accommodation and intensive support to children and young people who have a variety of needs. As a Youth Worker you will play a vital role in supporting our children and young people to to live their best life. You will bring a genuine passion and commitment to make a difference in the life of children and young people. Youth Workers perform a rewarding role filled with variety! No two days are the same as you support children and young people to work towards their own, unique goals.?Children and young people may come with high to complex needs, and selectability aspires to promote consistent and stable teams to support the recovery of our young people. You will be the person who works with children and young people to build their daily life skills and which promotes safe attachment and relationships. You will build rapport and relationships with children and young people and act as a role model in developing their independence and daily skills. You will also provide transport to and from activities. It could be anything from shopping, attending social events and appointments … to name a few activities!? No industry experience is necessary however, a positive outlook, ability to work towards completing the required qualification, and the desire to make a difference in the lives of regional Queenslanders is a must.
