Youth Worker

Details of the offer

We are seeking a passionate Youth Worker to:

- Assess the needs of congregation members and plan, develop, and implement educational and training programs, including Bible study and sermon topics, as well as presentations from outside speakers on relevant issues.

- Support youth leaders across different cities.

- Conduct informal counseling sessions.

- Monitor the progress of congregation members.

- Refer individuals to agencies that provide additional assistance.

- Provide guidance on accessing health services, government benefits, housing, employment, and other resources.

- Liaise with community groups, welfare agencies, government bodies, and private businesses to address issues affecting our members and promote awareness of community resources.

- Support families and provide education and care for children, including Sunday school programs.

- Assist congregation members in navigating social, emotional, and financial challenges.

Skills & Experience Required

- Minimum Diploma qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g., Youth Work, Community Services, Social Work, Counselling) is essential.

- Previous experience working with youth is preferred.

- 2+ years of experience in Community Services/Pastoral Care.

- Strong understanding of Aboriginal culture, intergenerational trauma, and culturally respectful practices.

- Valid driver's license and satisfactory criminal history check.

- Bilingual, with proficiency in Spanish due to a large multicultural client base.

- Commitment to the theological convictions, vision, and mission of the Australian Pentecostal Church.

- Strong interpersonal and relational skills.

- Excellent team player.

- Highly organized and self-motivated.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 per year

Every weekend
