Youth Worker

Selection Criteria KSC1. Demonstrated skills and experience in the provision of support to young people with significant mental health issues including anxiety, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Conduct Disorder, and behaviour associated with childhood trauma. KSC2. Demonstrated ability to assess student needs, collect and maintain accurate student records, develop case plans and appropriate interventions, and plan and facilitate relevant programs in consultation with the team leader and other relevant colleagues. KSC3. Demonstrated capacity to work cooperatively with a range of people including teachers, education support staff, students, parents/carers and community organisations. KSC4. Demonstrated high level knowledge of student risk management, crisis intervention techniques and strategies. A tertiary qualification in Youth or Social Work and/or extensive experience relevant to the position will be required Role Due to the varying levels of social and emotional success, and the implications of these experiences on engagement, students enrolled at LHCS require expert wellbeing support. Youth Workers will be able to work with students, families and associated professionals to ensure the highest level of support is in place and that the support is ongoing and relevant to our students' needs. The successful applicant will be able to work with colleagues and the wellbeing team leader to develop and implement clear individual and group-based interventions and strategies. They will be confident to report on individuals' progress, highlighting key strategies to support growth and how they can be implemented in a classroom setting. Responsibilities
