As the Tjurabalan Youth Wellbeing Worker, you will contribute to the development and provision of high quality, community focused and culturally secure therapeutic services to young people. You will provide supports in the areas of substance abuse, violence and abuse, suicide and other presenting issues. You will also deliver psychosocial education programs with an emphasis on prevention and early intervention.
You will reside in the Balgo Aboriginal community within the Shire of Halls Creek and provide outreach to Mulan and Billiluna. Accommodation paid for! You also will travel (by 4wd) to Kununurra to work from the Anglicare WA office every 6-8 weeks.

Desired Skills and ExperienceYou are passionate about your professional practice and specifically about providing person-centred, trauma informed and culturally appropriate services.
To be successful you will have the following skills and experience:
Tertiary Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Youth Studies or similar and/or significant experience working with Aboriginal peopleExperience in delivering culturally appropriate support in areas of substance abuse, violence and abuse, suicide and self-harmMust have knowledge of and respect for Aboriginal culture and cultural securityExperience in the development of strong, positive working collaborations with stakeholdersKnowledge of current trends and resources in youth counselling and crisis counsellingThe successful candidate must possess a current National Police Clearance valid within one year, a WA Drivers Licence and a WA Working with Children Check.
