The service is designed to make it as easy as possible for a young person and their family to get the help they need for problems affecting their wellbeing. About the role:The Youth Vocational Specialist is responsible for the implementation and delivery of the headspace Work and Study program, funded by the Department of Social Services as the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) Program. As part of this program the role will:Work as part of the headspace Hervey Bay multidisciplinary team and with external stakeholders to assist young people experiencing mental health and wellbeing challenges to transition into employment, education, or training, and provide ongoing mentoring and post-placement support. Manage the collection of appropriate data and record keeping and reporting in line with program requirements to support the project evaluation and outcomes. Support headspace clients at both Hervey Bay and Maryborough headspace venues, as well as through outreach in the community.About you:Action internal referrals of young people experiencing mental health challenges who require supported transition into employment and further education.Manage a caseload of young people through liaison with clinical teams, families, support networks and employers, in an ongoing and professional manner to achieve positive outcomes.Liaise and promote cooperation and seamless integration with internal and appropriate external services.Develop employment transition plans for individuals (that are inclusive of and work alongside other employment service providers) which address barriers to accessing and maintaining employment consistent with the individual's interests, skills, experience and capabilities.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in the development of streamlined referral and feedback pathways to ensure seamless service delivery across the centre.Ensure services meet the IPS Fidelity model and accurate information is provided during the evaluation of the services.Why WMQ?We value diversity, strive for inclusion, and come together to walk alongside those in need to provide hope and compassion.
