The Youth Disability Advocacy Network Inc. (YDAN) is Western Australia's peak organisation for young people with disabilities (YPWD), seeking to address the exclusion of young people with disability in a rapidly changing society.
We are the leading voice of YPWD in WA, ensuring they are respected, valued, and listened to in all aspects of life.
THE ROLE
Are you an experienced Programs Manager looking for a healthy work-life balance and to make meaningful change? This role is a 0.6 FTE (3 days per week, or equivalent hours) 8-month contract with the possibility of extension. The role works primarily from our office in Nedlands with opportunity for flexible working arrangements.
The pay rate starts at $49.28 / hour (SCHADS 5.1) with generous Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) exemptions available.
The Program Manager will work closely with Project Coordinators supervising the completion of project deliverables by:
Organising regularly project update meetings Facilitating timely delivery of key project milestones Facilitating the completion of comprehensive project progress reports Ensuring all documentation is maintained The Program Manager will also play a vital role in representing YDAN to external stakeholders such as:
Delivering presentations on key insights to projects Delivering external communications regarding reporting and funding Promoting the organisation's projects and services. Preparing reports, correspondences and other documents to support community updates. THE PROJECTS
You will be responsible for overseeing YDAN's current projects, building the capacity of young people with disabilities themselves, and supporting systemic change.

UNLEASHED 2021 Empowering Young Leaders in Disability 2023 Systemic Advocacy (Access and Inclusion Matters Project) Consulting Services SELECTION CRITERIA
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
Strong understanding of youth issues and the disability and community services sector in WA Living experience and/or sound understanding of current issues for young people with disability is highly desirable Demonstrated experience with line management of staff/volunteers to achieve their goals and program/project deliverables and assisting with staff training and development Demonstrated highly developed presentation skills, including experience in the preparation of reports, briefing and other documentation to support and inform a variety of stakeholders Demonstrated experience of project management, including project development, budget management, and reporting Strong written communication and research skills, including experience writing grant/tender applications and outcomes reporting Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills in a variety of settings Relevant qualifications or demonstrated experience in a similar role. ESSENTIAL ATTRIBUTES
A commitment to support and promote the overall objectives of YDAN Self-motivation and ability to deal with a high level of responsibility Adaptability and the ability to work collaboratively within a small team ELIGIBILITY
You will be required to obtain a current National Police History Check and Working with Children Check (WWCC) prior to commencement of employment.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Qualifications in social studies, health sciences, social work, public policy or another relevant discipline or equivalent and appropriate experience. Experience with high-level project decision-making and documentation. Experience working with young people or people with disability is highly desirable. Knowledge of co-design, youth-led projects and the importance of centring young people, and their voice, in project development and delivery Knowledge of current Federal, State, and non-government social policy issues.
