About the Opportunity:
The Youth Ministry Team Leader will shape and lead a new Sandhurst Youth Ministry Team and assume responsibility for the effective implementation of the Sandhurst Youth Ministry partnership. The Sandhurst Youth Ministry partnership is an agreement to actively collaborate in and exercise co-responsibility for the provision and leadership of Youth Ministry in the Diocese of Sandhurst. The partnership is between the Diocesan Chancery, Parishes, Priests and Catholic Education Sandhurst Ltd. Further details of the partnership will be provided to candidates invited for interview.
As a function of the Office of Mission and Pastoral Life, the role of the Youth Ministry Team will be to reach out and engage with young people in our communities, and in a special way to those in our parishes and schools, inviting them to deepen their relationship with Jesus and offering experiences to help them mature in their faith.
The Youth Ministry Team Leader will lead the Youth Ministry Team in promoting and fostering the personal and spiritual growth of young people in the Diocese, by drawing young people into responsible participation in the life, mission and work of the Catholic faith community and empowering young people to live as missionary disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today.
About You:
You will have a passion for young people with a positive vision for young people's role in the Church and society. You will be able to demonstrate a mature personal faith. You will be able to demonstrate previous experience in youth ministry leadership, or in working with young people in schools. You will have the capacity to create, sustain and build a team atmosphere together with well-developed interpersonal skills to interact with other people both individually and in groups. You have an understanding of and a commitment to promote the principles of Catholic Social Teaching and Gospel values within the workplace. Ideally you will have post-graduate qualifications in theology and/or ministry. What We Offer:
