About the role We are seeking an enthusiastic, reliable and community-minded person to join our Youth Mentoring Program.
Our Youth Mentoring programs aim to improve the social and emotional wellbeing of the participants through the development of positive self-esteem, focus on general life skills and building resilience.
Youth Mentoring mentees are aged between 14-18.
Reporting to the Youth Mentoring Coordinators within our Social Services division, the Youth Mentoring Assistant plays an active role in facilitating group workshops and activities throughout the year and attending the annual camp.
What you will do Attend a 3-day camp Actively participate in and support the Youth Mentoring Coordinator in managing group activities in a fun and inclusive way Participate in workshops with the Youth Mentoring Coordinator and support connections between the mentees and their mentors Encourage participation and create an atmosphere of inclusion and learning Assist with transport to and from the annual camp by driving the mini van What you will bring Positive attitude with an outgoing and energetic personality Ability to plan and implement group activities including adapting in response to the group's needs Passion for working with young people including those who experience disadvantage An understanding of the experiences of young people currently in the Jewish Community 2+ years' experience in a Youth Group leadership position Tertiary qualifications in Youth Work (desirable) The benefits of working with Jewish Care Generous not-for-profit salary packaging to increase your take home pay!
