We are passionate about our focus in providing education and employment opportunities.Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Youth Mentor to join our team and make a positive impact in the lives of youth and lowering the rates of recidivism for our participants through mentoring and support.The Opportunity:The Youth Mentor position is responsible for working individually with young people in the justice system dealing with mental health issues that can make them more vulnerable to reoffending. The role is primarily based within the community as well as youth detention centres by 1:1 mentoring with participants, delivering information sessions, and showing practical skill sets.The position is full-time fixed term until 31 December 2025.About you:You are passionate about supporting young adults achieve their goals.You understand the unique and diverse strengths and challenges facing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, with a willingness and capacity to listen and learn.Demonstrated experience in the provision of mentoring support and assistance to participants with complex needs.Experience working with justice clients or within justice services/custodial settings is an advantage.Ability to gather data and complete reporting requirements to meet quality assurance and contractual obligations.Ability to work collaboratively with consortium partners and/or other community organisations and support services.Department of Justice and Police Clearances (or ability to obtain).Current Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain).C Class Driver's Licence.What we offer you:An attractive salary including Salary Packaging.Pool company car available for use.A friendly and supportive work environment.Please note this is an Identified Position for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Applicants only.Please apply with a Cover Letter and Resume by no later than 5pm Monday, 16 December 2024.NB: Shortlisting can occur prior to closing date.
