What we offer Salary packaging options up to $18,450 per annum tax free Remote allowance of $3,300 per annum (if applicable) Annual airfare allowance 6 weeks annual leave 3 weeks personal leave Relocation allowance About the role As a Youth Justice Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting young people in the Alice Springs region. You will be responsible for providing comprehensive social work services to young offenders and promoting their rehabilitation and reintegration into the community.
What you'll be doing Conducting comprehensive assessments of young clients' needs and developing individualised case plans Providing counselling and support services to young people and their families to address underlying issues contributing to offending behaviour Liaising with the justice system, community organisations and other stakeholders to coordinate holistic care and support for young clients Advocating for the rights and wellbeing of young people and ensuring their voices are heard Delivering targeted rehabilitation and life skills programs to promote positive change Maintaining detailed case records and contributing to the evaluation of service delivery What we're looking for Tertiary qualification in Social Work or a related field Demonstrated experience working with at-risk youth, preferably within the justice system Strong understanding of the unique challenges faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients Commitment to social justice, human rights and empowering marginalised communities Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team Resilience and the capacity to work in a challenging and emotionally demanding environment Requirements Ability to obtain a satisfactory "Working with Children Clearance" (Ochre Card) upon commencement Satisfactory criminal history check and no history of disqualification from employment by a legal practice A current 'C' Class driver's licence Ability to travel to remote communities to attend bush courts if required Apply now to join our dedicated team and make a positive difference in the lives of young people in the Alice Springs community.
