In addition, the role has an educational, community development, and networking role which includes consultation and advice to Youth Justice. The Senior Youth Justice Mental Health Clinician position is expected to have high-level skills in the assessment, treatment, and care-coordination of young people with mental health difficulties and well-developed skills in education training, consultation, and liaison.They will provide an 'in-reaching' style of engagement, mental health assessment, and treatment – working from both the Youth Justice Offices and Monash Health sites (Dandenong and Pakenham Headspace/Youth Hub). This model of service co-location and collaboration aims to provide an additional access point to vulnerable young people presenting with mental health problems in the Youth Justice System.The role aims to provide assessment and targeted care to young people in the Youth Justice System, in addition to the provision of primary and secondary mental health consultation and tertiary mental health educational activities to Youth Justice.
