If you think you can do the job and would be a good fit for our department, we'd love to hear from you.The Youth Justice Team provides community-based supervision and a range of case management and support services for young people who are appearing before, or have been sentenced by, the Children's Court, Children's Koori Court, and adult criminal courts and who have been placed on youth justice supervised orders.About the roleCase Managers supervise and provide support to clients subject to Youth Justice court orders.
This includes preparing Court and Youth Parole Board reports, developing Client Service Plans, and attending court for client matters.
Case Managers provide assessments, develop case plans/reports, and advocate for the provision of support services.
Operating outside normal office hours may be required at times.Youth Justice is currently recruiting an ongoing full-time Youth Justice Case Manager position based in Melbourne's western suburbs, initially based at the Sunshine office.To be successful in this role you will have:A passion for contributing to the rehabilitation of young people in the justice systemUnderstanding of the youth justice system, the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005 and associated policies and guidelinesKnowledge of the principles of case management with the ability to utilise a range of assessments and interventions relevant to the background and needs of the young personEmpathy and cultural awareness including an appreciation of different culturesConfidence in managing stakeholders, negotiating effectively to develop and implement solutions.QualificationsA Bachelor of Social Work or Diploma in Community Services Work is highly desirable.A full driver's licence is required.A current employee Working with Children Check (WWCC) card is required and will need to be provided prior to commencement of employment.How to applyPlease click the Apply button on this advertisement.
