About us Youth Justice provides community-based supervision and case management services for young people who are appearing before, or have been sentenced by, the Children's Court, Koori Court and adult criminal courts. This role sits within the Youth Justice Court Advice and Bail Service (YJCABS) which includes the Youth Justice Bail After Hours Service (YJBAS).
About the role YJBAS workers provide essential support to young people and families in contact with the Youth Justice system, including making referrals to support services where required. Key responsibilities of this role include:
Conduct quality bail assessments, create reports, and provide advice to Bail Justices and the WORC.Respond to afterhours electronic monitoring alerts, assisting young people and families with technical issues.Engage effectively with complex young people and families to develop working relationships.Prepare reports and maintain prescribed registers, reporting systems, and client records.Develop and maintain effective working relationships with external stakeholders.About you: Advanced understanding of the Youth Justice system and relevant legislation.Demonstrated knowledge and practice in statutory Youth Justice, Corrections, or related fields.Understanding of case management principles and a range of assessment and interventions.Pays attention to words, expression, and body language; promotes a culture of inclusion.Why work with us?
