The Youth Engagement Project Officer reports to the Senior Youth Engagement Officer.
The Officer's work focuses on ensuring views and lived experiences of children and young people are sought, heard and acted on.
The role works with children and young people from a range of backgrounds and experiences (including the Commission's Youth Council) and across the Commission to facilitate opportunities for children and young people to be involved in and influence the work of the Commission.
This is a special measures role and only people aged between 18 to 25 years are eligible to apply, as per the Equal Opportunity Act 2010. In this role you will: Draw upon lived experience to support all areas of the Commission in embedding and implementing an evolving approach to youth engagement and participation.Contribute to the Commission's work to connect with more children and young people to achieve the Commission's objectives.Plan, prepare, and facilitate Youth Council meetings.Be a point of contact, coordination, and support for Youth Council members.Develop social media plans and content.Organise, schedule, and set up stakeholder meetings, including the preparation of materials and equipment when required (internal and external).Contribute to the preparation of project plans, briefings, presentations, reports, correspondence, and presentations.Deliver presentations to internal and external audiences.Actively contribute to the development of a positive and high-performing team culture, including identifying and implementing opportunities to improve teamwork practices.Assist with any other projects and administrative tasks as required.About You As our ideal candidate, you will: Be a young person who is curious and uses their lived experience to inform their work.Be a good communicator.Be self-motivated and ready to undertake a range of activities across all functions of the Commission.What we can offer you: Flexible working arrangements.A friendly and supportive working environment.Training and development opportunities.Free access to the building's lifestyle centre including a gym, secure bicycle storage, shower rooms with hair dryers, straighteners, ironing board, and fresh towels.Free Parcel Lockers – no more missing deliveries or rushing home to meet the courier.Applications close Wednesday 13 November 2024.
