We are working with a highly regarded organisation that provides innovative, mental health services to at-risk Teens and Young Adults As a leading organization in the industry, they are at the forefront of youth mental health services in the region.
Position: Youth Counsellor - BunburyFull-time | Fixed-term contract 12 months (Parental Leave Cover) OR Permanent ContractImmediate start available!
About the Role:This crucial role will see you providing support to young people from the Bunbury office and local schools.
Your key responsibilities will include:Delivering individual and group counselling (office-based, outreach, and telehealth) to young people and their families (where appropriate).Supporting the Intake team by conducting assessments and managing capacity as needed.Maintaining strong knowledge of and collaborating with youth mental health resources and networks.Building effective relationships with key stakeholders in health, mental health, and psychosocial services.Keeping accurate client records and adhering to data collection standards.Participating in clinical case reviews and multidisciplinary meetings to ensure effective service pathways.About You:To be considered for this role, you will need: A tertiary qualification (Bachelor or higher) in Counselling, Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Nursing, or a related field.Registration or membership with a relevant professional body (e.g., AHPRA, AASW, ACA).Proven experience working with young people at risk of suicide, depression, anxiety, or self-harm.Strong skills in conducting risk assessments, developing safety plans, and providing follow-up support.Experience with evidence-based clinical practices, particularly in complex mental health cases.The ability to work flexibly and adapt to the needs of young people.A current 'C' Class Driver's Licence, reliable vehicle, and willingness to provide outreach services (with mileage reimbursement).Aligning with the organisation's values is just as important as meeting the selection criteria.
