A bit about the role The Youth Coach will be a key link for young people between the ages of 15 - 24 experiencing housing support to gain access to a bespoke employment program supporting future pathways.
By collaborating with our partners, you will provide disadvantaged young people with an access point to employment support and play a vital role in addressing complex barriers to employment, education and/or training.
Through direct case management, developing and delivering innovative activity-based groups, building employer relationships, and providing ongoing, intensive interventions and support, the main responsibility of the Youth Coach is to mentor young people into sustainable employment and vocational pathways.
Where possible, the Youth Coach will register participants with Youth Projects employment services such as Transition to Work program.
Key Requirements: Qualifications: This role requires a Certificate IV in Youth Work, Community Services, Career Development, or Employment Services.
Professional Experience: Proven experience in employment services, training industries, and/or community/youth sectors, demonstrating a strong understanding of the challenges faced by young people seeking employment or education/training opportunities.
Youth Engagement Expertise: Demonstrated ability to assertively engage and support young people, understanding and addressing the diverse and complex barriers they face in accessing employment, education, or training.
Client-Centred Approach: A commitment to engaging with service users, employers, and industry representatives with respect, dignity, and a non-judgmental attitude, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment.

You have experience working in employment services, youth work, social work or a mix of all.

You're full of creative ways to meet our service users where they are at and believe that engagement shouldn't be a one-size-fits-all model.
You always see the person, not just their immediate situation, because you understand that everyone has different needs, and that is okay.
