The Salvation Army Youth Services offer an integrated suite of programs engaging with young people across Australia.
Our services create intentional avenues for young people to explore opportunities, build support networks, and access, participate and contribute to their communities.
Youth services provide a diverse range of programs which include housing and homelessness, driver training, education, employment, and training, AOD support, social and community activities, specialist therapeutic responses and youth justice programs.

About the role We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Youth Case Manager to deliver high quality case management support services to young people including families with accompanying children who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness.

This role develops and implements client led case plans that achieve set outcomes.
Reporting to the Client Services Coordinator, this is a Max Term (until June 2025), full time position based in Shepparton, Victoria.
Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award Level 5.

You will successfully Undertake intake and assessment of individuals entering the Refuge.
Identify clients who may be at risk of suicide or non-suicidal self-injury.
Defuse and manage situations where a resident is displaying inappropriate and/or anti-social behaviour.

Develop individual case plans in collaboration with clients and include a range of interventions that address the needs or goals of clients.
Undertake duties in relation to the administration and running of the youth service duty desk, minimum of one day per week and as required.
Assist clients to access support services and establish community supports, and where needed are assisted through advocacy with service providers.

You will have A tertiary qualification in social work, welfare, community development or related field.
Diploma is recognised with 5+ years' experience and ability to study towards tertiary qualifications.
A minimum of three years' experience in a social service environment preferably the youth sector.

A current Victorian Employee Working with Children Check.
A valid Victorian Driver Licence.

A working knowledge of the challenges facing young people in today's society such as alcohol and other drugs and homelessness, and the impact this may have on physical and mental health.
