Are you an experienced lawyer looking to make a meaningful impact? Our client seeks a diligent in-house lawyer to join their esteemed team, reporting to the executive manager managing partner in the Employment/ IR/workers' compensation department. Your role will involve managing a portfolio of claims and prioritizing safe and swift return-to-work outcomes for injured workers within legal parameters. You will collaborate with a cohesive team of seasoned in-house lawyers, fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment.
This rare opportunity currently exists for an in-house lawyer or associate with expertise in industrial relations, employment, and/or work health and safety matters to join their Adelaide office. You will work closely with the team's national workplace partners and senior lawyers.
What you need We welcome applications from candidates who:
have 1-5 years experience in employment, industrial relations, or work health and safety or a similar level of experience in high-level commercial litigation with an interest in employment law; are personally well organised; have a strong client focus and demonstrated ability to form enduring relationships with peers; work in a collaborative environment; are resilient and committed to excellence that matches our own; take pride in their work and who they work for; have strong strategic planning skills; exhibit excellent compliance with legal frameworks; possess exceptional communication and negotiation skills; have expertise in managing workers' compensation claims. Responsibilities include: Conducting initial contact on claims and determining required support; Coordinating activities to obtain relevant information for claim determination; Engaging with relevant parties in case management and dispute resolution; Representing the organisation at external forums as necessary. This role is suited for both Associate and Senior Associate levels, offering opportunities for growth and autonomy under the guidance of lead Partners.
