We're looking for a Tax Specialist to join our growing team and support our Australasia tax team! In this role you'll be responsible for managing the tax function by ensuring compliance with local tax regulations matters across the Australasia region. Based out of Kuala Lumpur, the scope of responsibility includes the corporate tax filing, fringe benefit tax, manage the transfer pricing matters, etc.
Key responsibilities: Manage the tax compliance matters in the Australasia region to ensure compliance with local statutory requirements. The tax reporting includes review the tax computation prepared by tax agent, prepare the provisional and deferred tax computation, tax estimates and ensure timely submission of tax returns. Manage transfer pricing documentations in the Australasia region and revert on queries from the tax agent and tax authorities on transfer pricing documentation. Coordinate transactional data collection and ensure that the outputs meet tax requirements. Manage the withholding tax submission and refund matters in the Australasia region. Act as the subject-matter expert and provide feedback/advice to management on corporate tax related matters. Provide timely and accurate update/advice on any changes in corporate tax law. Develop a tracking system that monitors the submission of tax returns for the entities in Australasia regions in compliance with the local laws and regulations. Undertake ad-hoc tasks or special projects that may be assigned to you from time to time. Required Qualifications: Possess at least a bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or equivalent from recognised universities. Professional qualification is added advantage (MIA/ACCA/CPA etc). 4 – 6 years of working experience in CPA firms will be an added advantage. Strong tax knowledge and experience in managing tax compliance matters across multiple jurisdictions. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to lead and manage a team. Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships internally and externally. Good time management skills, ability to multitask and manage stress in a fast-paced environment, able to thrive under minimal supervision. Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
