Our OpportunityWork Location: Hedland OperationsFortescue's Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.Roster: 4D:4N:8R FIFO ex Perth or ResidentialFortescue are currently seeking motivated personnel to join our team as a Yard Driver, to be based in Port Hedland on a FIFO or residential basis.
Reporting to the Rail Operations Hedland Supervisor, you will be responsible for meeting customer needs by safely ensuring the arrival and departure of trains at the Port, shunting, locomotive provisioning, general yard work, carry out minor repairs, vehicle checks, and assisting RSM technicians as requested.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide visible safety leadership by modelling positive safety behaviours in the workplace.Perform a wide range of duties including but not limited to shunting, loco cleaning and fuelling, general yard work, minor repairs, vehicle checks and assisting RSM technicians as requested.Propose improvement solutions based on anticipated or recurring problems and highlight possible solutions to the Supervisor Rail Operations.Ensuring that all customer's needs are met regarding the delivery of ore from the mine to port facilities by being flexible and using your initiative and skills.Assisting in the coaching and developing the knowledge and skills of lesser experienced operators and trainees.Qualifications and ExperienceCert 4 Locomotive Driving.Heavy haul experience (preferable).A current medical fitness to operate a locomotive.A demonstrated commitment to Safety and Safe working.A very good ability to problem solve and make decisions.Previous experience of working effectively with a limited amount of supervision.A current driver's licence.Good computer literacy in MS Office software.Ability to pass a Category 1 Safety Critical Worker medical.About UsBe part of something big.
