Mechanical Engineer (Static) We at Yara are part of a global network, collaborating to profitably and responsibly solve some of the world's key challenges - resource scarcity, food insecurity and environmental change.
The Yara Pilbara Fertilisers' plant is one of the largest ammonia production sites in the world. We have also taken the ammonia process further downstream with the Yara Pilbara Nitrates Technical Ammonium Nitrate (TAN) plant, a joint venture with Orica. Together with ENGIE, Yara Pilbara will also build a renewable hydrogen plant to produce renewable ammonia.

ResponsibilitiesThe Mechanical Engineer (Static) is responsible for ensuring the availability and optimum operation of Static Equipment assets at Yara Pilbara. The successful candidate will support Operations in ensuring Yara operates its resources in the most efficient and reliable way, providing troubleshooting and general support in the area of Static Equipment Engineering.
The Static Engineer will: Be responsible for mechanical engineering support of plant equipment.Be responsible for appropriate approvals and documentation for plant equipment.Apply relevant codes, practices and TOPs during maintenance activities.Be the co-ordinator for MOCs.Ensure equipment data accuracy in SAP.Publish Work Procedures for Static Equipment maintenance, repair and modification.Supervise overhauls and projects for Static Equipment, signing off Inspection and Test Plans and ensuring quality of work.Provide advice to Yara Personnel as the Subject Matter Expert on Static Equipment on site.Ensure Yara Technical Operating Procedure compliance and Industry Best Practice with regards to Static Equipment.Conduct Root Cause Analysis and publish reports relating to static equipment failures.Work closely with Inspection Engineers to implement findings of Risk Based Inspection Methodology on Static Equipment.Conduct training for Engineers and Technicians in Static Equipment Reliability and Maintenance.Assist SAP Specialist to optimise maintenance and spares data.Directly manage critical spares relating to static equipment across the site to ensure their availability and quality when required.Ensure MOC and Synergi actions are progressed in accordance with Yara's expectations.Identify problem areas and analyze performance trends; contribute to forward planning.ProfileBachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering.Full Member of the Institute of Engineers, Australia (MIAust).Preferred 5 years of experience in a similar industry as Static Equipment Engineer (Petrochemical, Gas Processing or Oil Refining).Strong SAP skills are a distinct advantage.Intermediate / Advanced MS Office suite experience.Certifications related to inspection of static equipment are highly regarded.Fluent English (verbal and written) is essential.What's On Offer?Karratha housing assistance for duration of employment.5 weeks annual leave.Optional RDO roster (including 16 accrued Rostered Days Off per calendar year).35,000 per annum regional location allowance.1,000 annual Health and Wellness allowance.Annual bonus program with a target of one month's base salary.3,000 p.a. electricity/water utility reimbursement.Flights for yourself and dependents, twice per year, after initial service period.Relocation assistance.6 months paid primary parental leave.Culturally diverse workforce with a DEI Ambassador program, salary packaging, and active Social Club.Yara celebrates diversity in all operations, practices, and engagement.
