As our Principal Geotechnical Engineer, you will enhance your capabilities and the reputation of WSP's renowned national Geotechnical and Tunnels team.
Based in our offices in Melbourne, you will be seen as an expert within our national geotechnical team, collaborating with a wealth of talented professionals, whilst working on iconic projects. You are already fast becoming an industry leader who uses their knowledge and passion in the successful delivery and outcomes that benefit both clients and communities.
What you'll do
Taking a leading role within our VIC Geotechnical team, providing strong guidance and oversight to projects within the local team. Striving to offer best practice geotechnical consulting services to clients, throughout Victoria and beyond, and relishing opportunities to lead and collaborate on international projects. Deploying your passion and knowledge across a number of diverse projects, exposing you to a variety of industries, such as transport, ports, mining, renewable energy, property and buildings, and government sectors. Mentoring and developing more junior engineers, ensuring that we are cultivating and supporting our fantastic Engineers of tomorrow. Being passionate, knowledgeable and willing to step up and help lead in our Geotechnics pursuits, whilst proactively maintaining effective networks and relevant industry relationships. Embracing our strong HSSE culture, providing safety leadership in identifying and alleviating/eliminating high priority safety hazards. Providing technical advice on complex geotechnical issues to clients and internal staff. Managing key clients, developing strategy, technical service offerings, and significant business opportunities. Building a reputation as a Principal Consultant who is confident leading project teams on consulting assignments. Undertaking peer review, expert opinion, and forensic engineering assignments. Developing a profile as a leading consultant within the Australian geotechnical consulting market. About You
You're likely to be a proven expert within Geotechnical in Australia, possessing extensive years of proven experience at Senior Engineer level as an absolute minimum. Influential and with exceptional people skills, you will also have genuine market and industry presence with your peers.
In addition, you are/have:
A civil engineering or Geotechnical degree, or related degree. Postgraduate qualifications in a geotechnical related field (preferred). Chartered Professional status. A successful track record in leading project teams to success within major projects. A proven track record of promoting innovation in the field of geotechnical engineering to create value for our clients and projects.
