About the opportunity The Wound Nurse will work as part of the broader Residential Services team and report to the Residential Services Manager. This is a part time position working 4 days per week. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assessment of wounds and development of wound management plansAccurate and timely completion of wound reviewsLiaising with key stakeholders including GPs and Wound SpecialistsManaging wound dressing requirements and stock orderingProvision of support, direction, and education to Clinical and Enrolled Nurses and other support staffPromotion of wound prevention and wound healing through the utilisation of clinical knowledge and experienceAbout you You will have the skills, knowledge and abilities to efficiently and accurately deliver clinical support, guidance and care as required in collaboration with the resident, their families and other health professionals. Essential criteria include:
You must be a Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registrationSignificant prior experience managing various types of woundsDemonstrated ability to independently undertake advanced wound assessment utilising advanced skills and knowledgeSufficient IT skills including use of software and Microsoft OfficeExcellent written and verbal communication skillsYou must also be willing to obtain a National Police Certificate before commencing employment as well as a functional assessment.
