A Workshop Welder is responsible for assembling pieces of material together or repairing damage in metal components.
Their duties will include but are not limited to the below responsibilities.
All jobs must be completed in a safe way and to our customers standard. Responsibilities: Work and communicate with co-workers to ensure production continuity.
Adhere to all safety requirements.
Read drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures.
Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
Set up components for welding according to specifications.
Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.
Align components using calipers, rulers etc.
and clamp pieces.
Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead).
Repair manufactured material and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps.
Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.
Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
Other workshop duties such as dispatch/goods receivable, various fabrication, plate manufacturing, quality checking (not limited to the above). Team Participation: Actively participate in all team meetings by demonstrating initiative, high levels of enthusiasm and supportive team-oriented culture.
Embrace and promote a culture of organisational teamwork and communication.
Relationship Management: Actively and professionally represent the organisation to industry suppliers with a key focus on developing strong sustainable relationship. Compliance: Ensure all business activities comply with all relevant acts, legal requirements, and organizational policies – code of conduct.
Adhering to and setting high ethical standards.
Workplace Safety: Report any safety issues identified to manager and conform to all safety when performing duties or in the workshop. Key Accountabilities Key Result Area: Work to be completed within a timely and professional manner.
Also, to be within tolerance as required by the customer. Measurement Criteria: Arcoplate to meet the required specification.
All fabrication to be within tolerance as requested on the drawings and by the customer.
Jobs completed in a timely manner with minimal errors/issues.
Position Requirements Experience: A minimum 2 years of proven experience as a Welder Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MMA etc.)
Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawing.
Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)
Attention to detail.
Knowledge / Skills: Ability to follow instructions given.
Complete work in timely manner Forklift license preferred.
Team player Good verbal and communication skills Willingness to innovate and generate new ideas.
Excellent time management and planning skills Highly motivated with the ability to work autonomously.

Pay range: $34 per hour, 60 hour working week Earning potential of up to $106,080 AUD annually.
