Mine & Tunnel Ventilation is an engineering company who Designs, Manufactures, Installs and Commissions Ventilation Systems to suit customer specific requirements, which has a desire to be a leading application engineering company, and is rapidly expanding.
The Position: We are currently seeking a Workshop Supervisor (Mechanical) to join and lead our workshop team in a full-time permanent position based out of our Welshpool facility.
The primary duties and responsibilities of a Workshop Supervisor include (but are not limited to) the following:
Manage day-to-day operations of the workshop, allocation of tasks, scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure the timely completion of jobs.Provide leadership and guidance to a small team, including training and coaching, to foster a positive and productive work environment.Lead and promote a positive safety culture and be responsible for the safety of all personnel engaged in the workshop.Responsible for the quality of the work both in projects and in the workshop, ensuring that all work is completed to the appropriate laws, regulations, and standards.Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers and other Stakeholders to plan and prioritise projects, allocate resources, and coordinate workflow to meet project deadlines.Maintain and monitor workshop equipment, tools and supplies to ensure they are in good working condition.
Coordinate maintenance and repairs as needed.Participate in meetings, share information and provide input on issues.Reading and understanding of Engineering Drawings.Any reasonable duties and responsibilities attached to the similar position.To be suitable for this position you require the following: Required Skills/Experience/Attributes: Relevant Engineering, Project Management, Maintenance or Trade QualificationA minimum of 2 years supervisory experience.A strong working knowledge and understanding of safety management practices.Internal/external dispute resolution and negotiations.Proven ability to lead, build, manage and foster a team-oriented environment.Sound knowledge & experience of assembling & maintaining mechanical systems.Sound knowledge & experience of maintaining operations within a workshop environment.Strong leadership, excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.Have the ability to operate 20t gantry crane in a safe manner, maneuvering unique items in a variety of situations.Be capable of conducting physical tasks with ease during assembly and disassembly.Current working at heights & in confined spaces.Current forklift license.Full unrestricted 'C' class driver's license.Must be able to provide pre-employment police check.Must be able to pass a pre-employment medical and Drug & Alcohol Screen.In return you will be rewarded with: Competitive hourly rate.Supportive and proactive management.Positive, professional, and safe work environment.Due to the large number of applications received if you do not receive a response from us within 4 weeks please assume your application has been unsuccessful.
