We are seeking a talented Workshop Supervisor to join our Queensland Fleet team based in Kawana, Rockhampton. This is a position in a business that continues to grow within Queensland.
Primary Purpose of Position Reporting to the Fleet Manager Queensland, the Workshop Supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating, and carrying out the ongoing maintenance and minor repairs of the company's vehicle fleet and associated equipment based at CDC's Rockhampton depot, whilst liaising with Kunda Park depot for major repairs. This position is responsible for the day-to-day safe and efficient running of the Kawana mechanical workshop.
Qualifications Qualified Heavy Mechanic (Cert III Heavy Commercial Vehicle)Minimum 5 years' experience in the industryExperience Transport/truck or heavy equipment related workshop experience, managing a large fleet of vehicles, in particular Mercedes Benz, MAN, Toyota vehicles5 years diesel mechanic experience in a similar position within the bus or heavy vehicle industrySkills Ability to prioritise and plan work activities, identifying additional resources neededWell-developed leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor othersExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent computer skills, in particular the MS suite of programsAbility to identify, analyse and resolve problems in a timely manner, with the ability to develop alternative solutions to problems - be innovativeAble to understand company demands, develop strategies to achieve company goals, set goals and objectives for fleet maintenanceKnowledge Sound judgement formed by extensive practical knowledge and experienceKnowledge of bus depot operations and industry WH&S standardsGeneral Responsibilities (not limited to)
Plan, schedule, carry out, and monitor CDC's vehicle servicing requirements, ensuring maintenance scheduling is adhered to, compliance with legislative requirements, whilst maintaining required fleet availability.Liaise with operational personnel to ensure required vehicles are available on a day-to-day basis for servicing purposes and for allocation of buses to daily driving shifts.Carry out minor repairs and scheduled servicing on all CDC Rockhampton based vehicles. Liaise with CDC Queensland Fleet Manager for major repairs required to be carried out by them, repair works under warranty, and paint and panel repairs.Responsible for job allocation, job scheduling, and allocation of work to the Rockhampton workshop team.Troubleshoot mechanical issues, recording observations and findings, and decide on the correct method of repair.Regularly report progress on long-term jobs, communicating delays or concerns to the Fleet Manager Queensland.Responsible for the quality of the work performed in the workshop, final inspection of work carried out ensuring it is to CDC standard.Parts and consumables ordering through Fleet Manager Queensland.Coordinate registration renewal inspections of Rockhampton based vehicles with the Fleet Manager Queensland.Carry out workshop inductions as per CDC procedures – which includes workshop familiarisation, procedures, use of equipment, explanation of duties, responsibilities, expectations, and administrative and payroll requirements.Identify and implement training that will improve skills of workshop personnel, in consultation with Fleet Manager Queensland.To apply If you are actively looking or considering a change, we would love to speak to you and will prioritise your call.
