About The Role:Responsible for managing the workload/flow of work through the components team, you will be a Supervisor that is not only quality-focused but also capable of providing solid learning opportunities for your team to continue their upskilling journey.
Being a motivated individual with a passion for all things mechanical, you will have come from a trade background such as Boilermaker, Machinist (Fitter and Turner), or Mechanical Fitter.
Leading a solid team of Trades, who take pride in their work and are extremely talented in their specialised areas of expertise, you will be someone that leads by example and is driven to ensure the cohesive running of your section.
Position OverviewReporting to the Group Production Manager, this position will oversee and plan works, ensuring the workflow of jobs through the components workshop meets deadlines and quality expectations. This is an opportunity for someone who is process-oriented and enjoys working with a high-quality product.
Preparing work, reviewing job details, preparing materials, overseeing final products, and inspecting to ensure that the job meets the QA standards of the business will be daily tasks undertaken. Maintaining the skills of the team and overseeing apprentices will also be a key part of this position.
Key responsibilities of the role are:Ensure workshop drawings are correct and to specificationCo-ordinate work schedules and achieve production targetsIn-process and final inspection on all products to company QA standards and specified standardsRecommend changes and improvements to product design and production methodsEnsure all job sheets and inspections are fully completed, signed off, and returned to the workshop officeMonitor your staff members' build times and manage accordingly, monitor and manage staff and buildsEnsure toolbox talks are taking place monthly & all staff directly aligned to yourself have all appropriate information to complete this taskWhat we are looking for:Ability to read and interpret drawings and specificationsMinimum 5 years' experience as a workshop supervisorExperience training and development of trades and apprenticesExperience in final QA job checksWhat can we offer you:Competitive salary based on experienceCareer development and trainingAn organisation that values and promotes a supportive and friendly environmentAbout us:The Drake Group is a leading engineering and manufacturing company with over 60 years of industry experience.
