About the company    Highly successful company with proven history as an award winning full service steel machining / steel manufacturing business based in Rocklea is looking a motivated person to join their growing workshop.
About the role We are currently seeking a highly motivated Workshop Supervisor to join our team and lead our Workshop with a team of Boilermakers, Machine Operators, Welders and Apprentices.
The successful candidate will report to the Fabrication Manager and be responsible for supervising all daily workshop operation activities.
Key duties will be: Supervise the workshop's daily operational activities, Hold weekly toolbox meetings discussing safety / quality / environmental matters, Ensure only VoC workers undertake VoC tasks, Review drawings prior to issue and allocate work, Plan jobs.
Provide leadership to the Leading Hand and QA officer, Train team members in welding applications, Dispatch jobs according to the Fabrication program, Organise weld testing and documentation for jobs.
Requirements for this role    proven experience and leadership role in structural steel fabrication, formal trade qualifications (Cert III) and higher-level certificates (Cert IV and Welding Supervisor - AS2214) are essential, an ability to establish rapport and manage a workshop team, excellent communication skills, a high level of attention to detail, excellent time management skills, a high level of honesty and integrity.
