Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Workshop Operations Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient day-to-day operations of the workshop, including supervision of workshop staff, coordination and prioritization of jobs, and review of daily workshop documentation.
Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, lead, and organize the day-to-day operations of the workshop, including supervision of workshop staff.Coordinate and prioritize jobs in consultation with workshop and other relevant staff to ensure their completion on time and to a high standard.Coordinate and review all daily workshop documentation, identifying any inconsistencies and actioning as appropriate.Work on the tools as required, depending on qualifications and experience.Provide timely customer service via phone, email, internet, and counter sales as required.Provide customer quotations for job enquiries.Assist in providing technical support to customers in collaboration with technical experts at Gibson's, use of parts manuals, and computer applications.Proactively communicate with customers on progress of jobs, parts orders, enquiries, complaints, or any other issues.Manage job cards, including entering job cards and work orders/assemblies into inventory software.Conduct regular quality control checks/audits on jobs.Monitor workshop for equipment functionality and organize routine maintenance and plant repair contractors in a timely and efficient manner.Manage workshop's performance in achieving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).Assist in sourcing, ordering, and warehousing and stock take of parts and workshop consumables.Provide leadership, direction, and training to workshop staff.Assist with interviewing for workshop positions, performance appraisals, employee warnings, terminations, approval of overtime, etc.Involvement in training and enforcement of WHS requirements in the workshop.Complete administration tasks as required.RequirementsPrevious experience in a workshop coordinator or equivalent position.Cert III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or Equivalent Qualification would be an advantage.Excellent work ethic and previous attendance record.Experience in using manual, semi-automated, or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders, etc.).Welding skills and experience.Experience working in the automotive industry and knowledge of automotive parts.Committed to providing exceptional customer service across all channels.Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.Outstanding attention to detail and accurate data entry skills.Ability to manage conflict in a constructive and respectful manner and to solve problems.Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines without compromising safety.The ability to adapt to unexpected priorities and re-focus as new priorities arise.A proactive, can-do, conscientious approach to work.Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.Proven ability to problem-solve and 'think on the go'.Excellent computer literacy, including ability to use Microsoft Office suite of programs and computer-based inventory/accounting software.Maintain neat and tidy appearance.Current Drivers License and reliable transport.Desirable RequirementsLF High-Risk Work Licence to Operate Forklift TruckFirst Aid Certificate
