Workshop Manager – Port Hedland Toll is moving to a new, state-of-the-art workshop and expanding its operations.
As part of this growth, we are seeking a Workshop Manager to lead our team and oversee the day-to-day management of the workshop for our Port Hedland Depot.
The Workshop Manager will be responsible for the overall workshop performance including the servicing and maintenance of vehicles and equipment, cost recovery, quality, compliance for Toll Group.
The Workshop Manager will ensure that the workshop is run economically and that all activities are performed safely, accurately, and in line with customer expectations.
This position plays a key role in developing staff, increasing workshop efficiency, maximising profitability and driving a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement.
The position is one which requires a high understanding of trade skills, a high level of communication skills and flexibility, plus an excellent working knowledge of daily workshop operations and its ongoing profitability.
This is a role where leadership, customer excellence and operational efficiency all come together, and you will need to drive high standards whilst ensuring the site is being run safely and efficiently.
Duties and Responsibilities / a day in the life of the Workshop Manager – Manage daily activities of Toll employees and ensure that all work and is performed safely and that an ongoing commitment to safety is maintained including proactive actions to identify and reduce workplace hazards.
Maintain staff job results by coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
Demonstrate exemplary safety leadership behaviours and monitor and promote HSES & QA programs, to achieve a safe and incident free culture.
Control workflow for minimum vehicle downtime and maximum workshop output.
Anticipate customer needs and identify opportunities to significantly enhance the breadth and quality of the service experience.
Ensure established work systems are in place and people can work effectively as individuals and as a team to achieve the standards and results in line with best practice.
Manage the carrying out of vehicle repair / job sign off on completion of a job and all administration functions thus to ensure the effective and efficient running of the workshop.
To be successful in this role you will have: Proven experience in a similar transport, logistics or related industry.
Demonstrated ability working within a fast-paced environment.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Previous diagnostic investigation experience.
Be a team player, open and honest who consistently delivers an exceptional customer service experience.
Hold a flexible approach to business commitments.
Ensure that all work is performed safely and that an ongoing commitment to safety is maintained including proactive actions to identify and reduce workplace hazards.
Ability to build and maintain engaged and productive teams.
