Our client is a leading NT Civil Construction business based in Darwin who have worked on major defence, industrial, community, commercial and remote construction projects in the NT. Due to current and upcoming projects and business growth, they now have an opportunity for an experienced Workshop Manager to join their team.
About the role
The Workshop Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the workshop in Darwin, Northern Territory. This role involves managing a team of mechanics, technicians, and other workshop staff to ensure that vehicles are serviced, repaired, and maintained efficiently and effectively. The Workshop Manager is also responsible for ensuring that all work is completed to high standards and that all health and safety procedures are followed.
The successful candidate MUST have the following skills and experience: Fully qualified Mechanic with experience working with Heavy Vehicles/Trucks. Knowledge of workshop operations, including vehicle maintenance and repair processes. Prior experience managing teams. Solid administration and time management skills. A proven problem solver with the ability to forward plan and think outside of the box. Be confident in using computer software including Microsoft suite. Possess strong leadership/supervision and communication skills. Knowledge and understanding of Chain of Responsibility and the National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme (desirable, not essential). Hold a current unrestricted Driver's Licence (HR / MC highly desirable, however not essential). Current Forklift licence and White Card. What's in it for you?
