As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced Workshop Manager to join our dynamic team and oversee the smooth and efficient operation of our fabrication workshop.
Role Overview: As the Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our busy fabrication workshop.
Your leadership will be key to ensuring all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
You will manage a team of skilled fabricators, welders, and fitters while maintaining a strong focus on safety, productivity, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities: Workshop Operations Management: Oversee the daily operations of the workshop, ensuring projects are completed on time, to specification, and within budget.Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and manage a team of fabricators, welders, and workshop personnel, ensuring a high level of productivity and quality.Health & Safety: Promote and enforce a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.Quality Control: Implement and monitor quality control procedures to maintain high standards in fabrication processes and finished products.Resource Management: Ensure all materials, tools, and equipment are available and maintained to the highest standard, minimizing downtime.Production Scheduling: Work closely with project managers and production planners to develop and maintain production schedules.Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance workshop efficiency, reduce waste, and increase profitability.Client Communication: Liaise with clients and internal stakeholders to discuss project requirements, timelines, and any issues that may arise.Key Requirements: Proven experience as a Workshop Manager or in a similar role within the steel fabrication industry.Strong technical knowledge of steel fabrication processes, welding techniques, and fabrication machinery.Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate a diverse team.Solid understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices in a workshop environment.Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a high standard of quality.A relevant trade qualification or engineering background is preferred.What We Offer: Competitive salary and benefits package.Opportunity to work with an experienced and passionate team.Career progression and professional development opportunities.A supportive and safety-focused working environment.If you are an experienced Workshop Manager with a passion for steel fabrication and a track record of success, we want to hear from you!
