As a Workshop Manager, you will be accountable for leading the technicians on the workshop floor, including overseeing effective management and performance of the Boston maintenance operation, delivering outstanding levels of service and compliance with Quality Standards, promoting safe working practices, improving day-to-day operations, ensuring paperwork is completed to a high standard by the technicians, and ensuring a high level of quality standards to our customers.
A snapshot of what you will be doing here: Coaching and leading the team: Taking end-responsibility for quality, efficiency, safety, and resources within your unit; Coaching and motivating the team members; Taking responsibility for the team. Management of the work package: Implement TCR processes and procedures with the utilization of SAP; Manage resource and labor allocation in coordination with management; Ensure correct stock management by determining and ordering the available and needed resources; Provide insights to management regarding planning feasibility and advise on viable solutions; Identify and visualize planned maintenance and outstanding problems; Track progress of the work package based on available resources; Assist team members in processing production figures and quality data; Create, check, evaluate, and sign inspection lists. Subject-specific support to the team members: Instruct in maintenance and malfunctions for safe maintenance of vehicles and equipment; Knowledge transfer for professional development of the team members. Participating in regular consultations: Coordinate with departments such as customers, suppliers, and TCR departments; Provide information from customers to team members; Advise customers regarding vehicle and equipment availability. Continuous improvement: Contribute to the professional knowledge to set up quality measurements; Propose improvements such as adjusting procedures; Investigate and produce technical improvements to reduce costs and increase availability. Perform tasks specific to technicians, including associated responsibilities and authorities. Take end-responsibility for workshop administration within your unit, including work orders, invoicing preparation, and time control. Demonstrate active safety leadership by driving the safety culture and implementing initiatives to improve safety performance. We are looking for an individual who: Has an expert technical background in GSE maintenance and repair; Can make complex decisions under pressure; Is stress-resistant; Assists in implementing formal quality improvement; Demonstrates commitment to an OHSA-friendly working environment; Acts as a role model; Is a real team player; Has strong communication skills; Has a drive for excellence; Possesses leadership skills; Is fluent in English – both oral and written.
