The Opportunity: We are currently seeking a Workshop Leading Hand to manage the operation and administration of the workshop, leading, and contributing to a professional team environment by ensuring high levels of safety, quality, efficiency and customer support.
Responsibilities would include but not limited to: Assisting with troubleshooting enquiries from field technicians.Coordinate and assist supervising workshop staff on repairs of equipment and components in accordance with manufacturers' standards within the laid down time frame.Overseeing PDI builds.Overseeing workshop-based repairs.Ensuring quality and safety standards are maintained.Issue appropriate documents and work instructions to workshop technicians and apprentices to ensure there is a complete understanding of work requirements and labour times on each job or task.Maximise own time and team labour output through job control and communication with workshop staff.Assist Workshop Supervisor with job estimations and planning, including job progress.Assisting with troubleshooting enquiries from field technicians.Coordinate and assist supervising workshop staff on repairs of equipment and components in accordance with manufacturers' standards within the laid down time frame.Role Located:Fairfield Komatsu benefits: Families Policy: 16 weeks of paid primary carer parental leave, 4 weeks of secondary carer leave, plus many more family friendly benefitsFinancial:Income Protection Insurance provided through our company superannuation fundCareer:Recognition, awards, flexibility, further education studies and internal career developmentHealth:Corporate discount with Bupa, Total Wellbeing Solution with Telus HealthTravel:Discounts with Avis, Qantas, Crown, IHG and travel agentsYearly Bonus: Potential to receive a yearly bonusReferral Program: $3000 referral payment for referring a successful new employee to KomatsuWhat we are looking for: Trade qualified – ideally, Mobile Plant or similarPrevious experience in a Leading Hand, Workshop Supervisor or Manager position or similarDemonstrated commitment to safety with sound knowledge of processes and procedures.Ability to lead, delegate and manage varying degrees of experienced technicians.Extensive knowledge and previous experience of the repair and overhaul of earthmoving equipment and componentsAbility to demonstrate technical fault diagnosis during dismantling and inspection process.Ability to to work unsupervised.
